Welcome Anchorage trip from Seward to Anchorage was a memorable experience for our family. Van was spotless and spacious. James had the best travel information, warm approach and top quality service for each of us in our group. If you are looking for a vacation provider in the Anchorage area search no more.

It was a fabulous experience. Davis was a knowledgeable and thoughtful guide. We had a peace of mind we would get to our destination safely. I highly recommend using them!

We did the Glacier View and Wildlife Tour with Rick and it was absolutely phenomenal! It was a perfect way to see so many parts of Alaska you wouldn’t think without a guide. Rick was a hilarious ball of joy all day, and worked hard to make sure the whole group was engaged and having a great time. The van was incredibly nice. Clean, modern, comfortable, and plenty of windows to enjoy the awesome views. We definitely lucked out with the weather - clouds clearing out to show all the mountains, and the sun warming us up on the slightly chilly day - but I think the tour would still be a blast no matter the weather. Rick had an awesome itinerary planned, but left the flexibility for us guests to ask for something different, or for him to use his Alaska expertise to modify the order of things to improve the experience. 10/10 recommend this excursion, and likely any of their excursions, but I’ll just have to try them all first!

I am a travel agent and did a lot of research trying to find the best option to get my 12-year-old son and me from Seward to Anchorage after our recent cruise in Alaska. I had debated taking the train as it does afford great views and is a frequent choice but I didn't like that we would not be able to stop anywhere along the way. I also wanted to get to the heart of Alaska and really experience some of the outstanding stops en route to Anchorage. My son and I feel so blessed to have found James and Welcome Anchorage Tours.! We had an amazing day and loved every spot on our tour! We were able to see and do so much in a limited time. The flexibility to customize our stops to the locations that we really wanted to see and to spend as much or as little time in each place as we wanted was incredible. James was patient and kind enough to guide us on the hiking trails to the glaciers (even providing some much-needed bug spray), took photos for us along the way, and gave us some free time to make memories just the two of us. The abundance of information that James has to share with you on your tour from the history of the area, facts about the flora and fauna, and personal narratives relating to his years living in Alaska are the perfect backdrop for your adventure with Welcome Anchorage Tours. James' passion for Alaska and for sharing it with others is refreshing. We learned way more about Alaska on our tour with James than we would have on a pre-programmed train or bus tour. I will definitely be recommending James and Welcome Anchorage Tours to my clients and anyone looking to have a great experience in the Seward/Anchorage area. Thanks for the wonderful memories James!

Jenny was a FANTASTIC guide and nature interpreter! This was our first ever excursion in Alaska and it was our best excursion during two weeks! Jenny was very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna, and the area's history. She explained the bore tide and the dangers of mud flats during low tide. She is friendly, warm, and helpful. My wife had injured a knee the day before, without being asked Jenny offered the front passenger seat which was not being used. She was gracious with all of us on the tour. Jenny is passionate about Nature in Alaska, she loves her work and it shows. We learned a great deal from her on the tour. The van was perfect, roomy and comfortable, the big windows were helpful while on the road. All of our other excursions in Alaska were huge groups, and transportation was uncomfortable. Our group size with Welcome Alaska was ideal. Thank you to Jenny and Welcome Alaska for an excellent introduction to Alaska! June 11 2024.

I am so glad I picked this tour over the others. Not only did I get to see the Wildlife Conservation Center, I got to step out into nature and explore the beauty of Alaska's wilderness. Don was a great guide. He was knowledgeable and provided us plenty of time to take in nature. I love the additional touch of providing snacks (Alaskan too!) to sustain us through the day. Thank you to everyone at Welcome Anchorage Tours, especially Don! It was a really fun day of exploring Alaska!

Don and Stephanie were absolutely amazing in giving us a tour of Anchorage! We only had one day here and it was packed with so many beautiful views and fun facts about the history of each area. This was a last minute tour I booked and was probably the best one we took on our entire trip. We got to see so much in one day, thank you guys again!

Must book this tour/transfer! We cannot express with words how great Corey was, he went above and beyond to make sure we saw plenty of wildlife, had great lunch and coffee in Girdwood, time to shop souvenirs, took us up to the Alyeska ski resort, and drop off us at our hotel. We were picked up at Whittier Cruise Terminal after disembarking at 9am and dropped off until 4pm. We had an amazing time! We’ll be booking again with Welcome Anchorage Tours next time we visit Alaska. Thank you Corey!! LOOOVE my coffee shop magnets!!

Thank you to Welcome Anchorage Tours! I had a great tour with Brooks, who is a true Alaskan. He was selfless in sharing his stories about Anchorage and knows a lot about its history. I am a solo traveler, and before this tour, I was exploring the city on my own. This tour helped me learn so much more about the city, and I even met a fellow traveler to share the experience with. I especially loved the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, where I saw many adorable animals, such as bears and a lynx, and so on. If I could give this tour a grade, it would be 200 out of 100! Thank you to the company and our tour guide for providing such amazing service! (The photos didn’t turn out great because of the rainy weather.)

In August of 2025 we had a wonderful experience with Welcome Anchorage Tours. Jen planned our trip from Anchorage to Seward and our five days there. She arranged all transportation (including in Seward, which was a huge deal because we didn't rent a car). On the way to Seward our guide (Davis, who we requested multiple times) took us to Girdwood to pan for gold and made a stop at the Wildlife Conservation Center. While in Seward Jen arranged all of our many activities and they were all fabulous. She also arranged our lodging, which was directly on Resurrection Bay with fantastic views and conveniently located. Then, on the fly, she arranged our private transportation from Seward to Talkeetna. I had originally booked the bus, but at the last moment my husband required more flexible travel and Jen made it happen. If I go back to Alaska I would definitely choose to work with Jen again. I cannot recommend enough.
